Week 5/52

Perfect Timing is a weekly photography project by two friends who met in college, became roommates and have been close ever since. We share a love for languages and travel, and although we're from the same southern state, we now live on different continents, balancing a demanding work life with a private life. We both agree that everything happens for a reason, whether we see these moments as positive or negative at the time, propelling us ahead or slowing us down. We hope you will join us each week, as we share little moments of Perfect Timing with you.

This is 1 of 20+ mini gingerbread houses made from scratch by my husband. One of the girls had a birthday a few days ago and she wanted mini gingerbread houses that she could take to school for all the kids in her class. As all of the culinary creations from my husband, they turned out perfectly. It was almost a full-day project, with a bit of stress, a lot of candy and four hyper and very excited kids.

There are moments in life where you are just trying to get something done. You have a project / task in front of you and you just want to rush through and complete it. Some of these projects are fun ones. Sometimes easier said than done, but the fun ones are the ones we need to slow down and enjoy. Enjoy the process, enjoy the excitement.

I knew from the moment we met that it'd be a lasting friendship. Kindred spirits. It was as if we had always known each other. Like family. My dear friend Madalena of my personal coffee break. When she's not busy running her own company, she is out exploring new places, jogging or enjoying a great cup of joe. I am sure you will adore her as much as I do. Please take a moment to check out her "Perfect Timing" photo from this week: "holiday warmth."
